We are:
-A Worshiping Church:
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.” Psalm 29:2
Because God has revealed Himself and rescued us through Jesus, we are able to fulfill our primary purpose of being worshipers of God. We seek to exalt the risen Jesus above all else and declare to the world His glory and goodness.
-A Community Church:
“In Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others” Romans 12:5
As a group of individuals that are uniquely created by God and commanded to love one another, we desire to journey toward Jesus together as we encourage, help, serve, correct, forgive, bear with, and admonish one another. We believe that we are better together and that it is only through Christ-centered community that we can fully be who God calls us to be.
-A Growing Church:
“Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.” Ephesians 4:15
A lifelong goal of every Christian is to mature and become more and more like Jesus. We believe that this process is continuous and that we are to strive together to become mature in Christ as the Holy Spirit changes our behaviors, values, and identities.
-A Generous Church:
“We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.” 1 Thessalonians 2:8
We worship a God who is incredibly generous, and He desires that we be generous toward Him and others as well. Being open handed with our time, talents, energy, and resources not only blesses those around us – it is a crucial step to our own growth and satisfaction. When we talk about being generous, it’s not so much about what God wants from us as what He wants for us.
-A Reflective Church:
“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.” 2 Corinthians 5:20
When we come to Jesus, He takes His place as our King and we become citizens and bearers of His Kingdom. This means that we reflect to the world around us the peace, joy, hope, and love that comes through Christ. Though Jesus’ Kingdom is an invisible and spiritual one, we make it visible as we live out the values that He has revealed to us. We desire to preach the gospel and invite others into a saving relationship with Jesus.

Background & History
Bear Creek Community Church was planted in 1984 by Crossroads Bible Church in Bellevue Washington, and we are affiliated with Converge Northwest. Converge is a strategic network of churches focused on transforming lives and communities with the hope of the gospel both locally and around the world.
Bear Creek Church met in a local school until March 1991 when they moved into their new building at the present location. The church began with 13 families and Rev. Dave Chapman was the pastor. Rev. Chapman served at BCCC until 1990, and Rev. Norm McLean served from 1991 through 2006.
Pastor Mike San Martino began serving as Lead Pastor in 2007 until Dr. Mark Erickson assumed the role in January of 2020.
